Aims
Students:
develop insight into their individual assets in order to make better decisions in their musical studies and future career;
develop a realistic understanding of the activities of a professional composer;
improve their study skills;
learn to understand the health aspects of their study/profession;
and learn to analyze and improve on their functioning in group processes such as presentations, discussions and debates.

Content
Several sessions during the year, occasionally connected to project weeks and with supplementation from people in the field, focusing on:

Inventory study issues
Presentation
Communication
Business
Gaining insight into own qualities and pitfalls
Physical and mental health
Mode(s) of instruction
Group meetings, possibly divided into smaller sub-groups, group discussion, student presentation, group training; workshop, lecture and debate that, depending on the composition of the group, take place entirely on-campus, entirely online or in a combination of both, i.e., that there are attendees both physically in the classroom and virtually via a screen. Online attendees communicate by seeing, talking and listening to each other and the on-campus attendees equally. The teacher has access to a whiteboard, application sharing, desktop sharing and document sharing and can hand this privilege to any other participants.
Apart from the video conference a high quality stereo audio stream is open at the same time via source connect. That way students and instructor can listen to music from any source of the group and talk about it simultaneously.

Varies for the different projects, depending on their subject and mode of instruction. Students may be assessed by the relevant teachers and/or guest teachers through meetings, and/or a performance assessment.
Criteria
Students are required to make an active contribution to all activities and to deliver products/performances that meets the study group's standards.

Assessment in terms of satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

Module summary

This module is intended to teach students general knowledge and skills that give them more control over the course their studies and professional career. These are partly related to concrete aspects of studying and working, but also concern essential, beneficial character traits.
